I can’t work with things I don’t care about. Not in a fun way. Not in a particularly dramatic way. My body just won’t let me. It denies spending energy on things that don’t matter. So when my body stops me from doing, I think. Thinking turns to writing, turns to caring, turns to obsession, turns to materializing.
My obsession expresses itself in repetitive actions, often drawings, sometimes never-leaving thoughts. I’m limited to things I care about, but I also feel the need to streth those limits. Text is most often the centerpoint in my work, but it is surrounded by material explorations in textiles, drawings and collages.
